I have been fortunate to have seen some of the finest gems mined on this continent. My father, Bill Forrest and his partner "Buzz" Gray; own the "Benitoite Gem Mine." After learning to facet gems, they set me up cutting Benitoite. For many years, I cut gems for other dealers. Gradually, I bought my own rough and started selling my own finished gems. For a few years, I sold loose gems to other jewelers and other gem dealers.

In 1993, I opened my retail store with an emphasis on loose colored gems. I quickly found that finished jewelry is what sells in the retail environment. Business has been good. Much of my time is now dedicated to goldsmithing and custom jewelry manufacturing. The intent of this web site is to guide my business back towards my passion of cutting unique, uncommon gems. With the internet I see a great potential to find many more collectors and astute gem and jewelry buyers.
